THREATENING AND SUMMONING OF ENVIRONMENTALISTS AND WOMEN’S RIGHTS ACTIVISTS IN MAHABAD
Following the news of the arrestment of the environmentalists and women’s rights activists in Kamyaran, Sanandaj, Marivan, this time in Mahabad, a number of environmentalists and women’s rights activists were summoned by the city’s Ministry of Intelligence News Headquarter and interrogated for several hours and were threatened.
According to Human Rights of Kurdistan of Iran; Tuesday, 2019 July 30; in the wake of the environmentalists and women’s rights activists attempts in Mahabad to releasing a number of women in prison on charges of murder and financial crimes by raising funds for them, these activists were interrogated.
An informed source told our reporter: « Two of these activists were summoned and interrogated last week. All activists were threatened and they were deeply concerned over the possibility of security charges and prosecution. »
In the past months, about four citizens of Rejaw (a village of Dehloran city) have been detained by the security forces in Kermanshah province and transferred to Kermanshah city, some of which have been transferred to Dizel Abad Prison in Kermanshah.
Environmentalists and women’s rights activists in Mahabad, expressing concerns over the allegations of enmity to god and corruption and said: «Prosecutor of the Dalahoo Revolutionary Court had earlier announced the formation of a court for detainees. » They fear that they will be confronted by the security agencies with case-making.
